Juab’s loss could be Whidbey’s gain.
When the Coupeville School District hired Dr. Jim Shank as its next superintendent, it also got his family in the deal. And, for Wolf basketball fans, that could be a big deal.
Shank’s son Matt is a junior-to-be who played center and power forward for Juab High School in Nephi, Utah and he comes with a strong recommendation from the Wasps head coach.
“You are getting a great family in your town,” said Juab coach Jake Downard. “Matt is a great kid, sad to see him go.
“He is a big kid with lots of potential,” he added. “He was a good defender and rebounder for the JV. He was well liked by his teammates and by his peers at the school.”
