A very happy Madison Tisa McPhee and Chloe, her seriously sleep-deprived horse. You can tell by the glowing eyes.
Everywhere Madison Tisa McPhee goes, awards follow.
The recent Coupeville High School grad, who hauled home multiple medals from this year’s state track meet, is back to kickin’ fanny and taking names with her horse, Chloe, on the barrel racing circuit.
Their most recent stop was the 5th annual Billy Eggleson Memorial Roping and Barrel Race at the Sedro Woolley Rodeo Grounds Saturday, June 22.
Competing in an event that didn’t kick off until 11 PM, and wound up somewhere just shy of 1:30 in the morning, Tisa McPhee won the youth class (for which she got a championship belt buckle — her first — and a prize check) and claimed fourth (and another check) in the open jackpot.
It’s presumed the other competitors cried themselves to sleep afterwards.
