Their bats are lethal weapons.
Pounding the ball with wild abandon, the Central/South Whidbey “Sizzlin’ Sisters” All-Star little league softball squad thrashed back-to-back opponents this weekend.
After opening with a 22-5 romp over Oak Harbor Saturday, the Sisters drilled Sedro Woolley 12-2 Sunday, capping the performance with a successful steal of home from Mollie Bailey.
Everyone chipped in with strong performances, led by pitcher Chelsea Prescott, who whiffed 19 batters over the two games.
When she wasn’t busy on the mound, she provided some run support for herself, smashing a grand slam against Sedro.
Prescott, Kaia Richmond and Coral Caveness were flawless against Oak Harbor, combining to reach base in all 15 of their at-bats.
Stella Johnson, Audrianna Shaw and McKenna Somes swung big bats, as well, each bashing a double.
The Sisters dialed down the offense — slightly — against Sedro, but still ended the game early thanks to the ten-run rule.
Bailey, little sister of CHS softball sensation McKayla Bailey, proved catchers can run when she zipped home with the game-ender.
Others chipping in to the win included Isabelle Wells, who was plunked twice while batting, Thora Iverson, who snuck away from her horse show to lace a single, Abby Mulholland, who whacked two hits, and Shianna Baker, who displayed an eagle eye, eking out several walks.
