Izzy LeVine is part of a sterling athletic tradition.

Oldest sister Micky is a star soccer play, middle sister Jae is prone to knocking down three-point bombs and then dancing around like Rocky, and parents Sean and Joline are competitive runners, while Sean also coaches select soccer.

So is it any wonder that the pint-sized lil’ sister is already winning the war against that most deadly of foes, the Coho salmon?

Athletic supremacy — it’s in her genes.

P.S. — And yes, it’s possible her dad actually caught the fish. But we’ll just ignore that part of the story for now.

fishTime to work the water.

If you’re 12 or younger and have a hankerin’ for the fishies, grab your fishing pole and head up to Oak Harbor Saturday, July 6 for a free kids fishing derby.

Hosted by the Oak Harbor Yacht Club, it’s technically a North Whidbey event. BUT, if Central Whidbey kids go up there and beat the world (fish for Coupeville pride, baby!!), then all will be well with the world.
