They won’t know what hit them!
All flush and momentarily happy from a five-set come-from-behind win Wednesday night, the Nooksack Valley High School volleyball team has actually put themselves right in the bulls-eye of the Wolves.
The Pioneers’ 21-25, 20-25, 25-22, 25-18, 15-12 victory over Lynden Christian netted them a top seed in Saturday’s 1A Northwest district tournament and earned Nooksack Valley (8-6) a first-round match-up with Coupeville (4-11). The tourney is double elimination, with four of the eight teams advancing on to tri-districts.
Coupeville will join Cascade Conference mates King’s and South Whidbey, while the Northwest Conference will send five schools. South Whidbey will open against Friday Harbor on Coupeville’s side of the bracket, while Lynden Christian faces Mount Baker and King’s meets Meridian in the top half of the draw.
