Hailey Hammer is more than halfway to being the leading scorer in the Cascade Conference.
The Coupeville High School sophomore currently sits 14th in the league, hitting for a shade over eight points a game, which leaves her within shouting range of league leaders Kalee Fowler (15.6) and Susan Kenney (15.3) of unbeaten Cedarcrest.
Whether she will get the chance to ramp up her scoring is still up for debate, however, as the defensive-minded Wolves have prospered this season by spreading the scoring around. Freshman Makana Stone is 21st in the league in scoring at six a game, while seven Wolves have already reached double digits.
At the JV level, it’s Mad Dog Time, as sophomore Madeline Strasburg dominates the chart. Coming on strong, however, is sophomore Monica Vidoni, already third on the squad in scoring, despite missing the first two games.
