He’s Nicholas in the program. The Big Hurt to anyone stupid enough to get in his way as he rambles through the paint.
Call him what you will, Coupeville High School junior Nick Streubel is his team’s leading scorer this basketball season, and, Friday night, he dealt out the biggest assist of the season.
After the game had ended and most of the fans had departed, Streubel and his teammates were chomping on cupcakes provided by team moms in honor of Caleb Valko and Drew Chan’s last home game as seniors.
Then, one thing led to another, Streubel hoisted Wolf assistant coach Dustin Van Velkinburgh on his shoulders, Coach V raised his own lil’ son high in the air, and the trio tottered over to the basket, where the pint-sized future Wolf threw down the shot of the night.
And all was well in Wolf Nation.
