Now, it’s true, the South Whidbey High School girls’ basketball team won Wednesday night.
The Falcons played with grit and pluck and led by Madi Boyd and Annalies Schuster, they eliminated Coupeville from the playoffs fair and square. We don’t have to be happy about it over here in Wolf Nation, but we can acknowledge the Falcons accomplishment and wish them well against Blaine on Friday.
Go up to the Canadian border and win one for Whidbey!
But, you can’t ignore the fact our fans were better than yours Wednesday.
Even on the road, even with your AD frowning on our fun-lovin’ shenanigans a bit in the fourth quarter, our student section completely overwhelmed your student section.
And yes, I know, we’re coming back Thursday for a boys’ basketball playoff game, so, in a sense, this is a dare.
Bring your best. Try and get some moves, a few chants, some motion in your ocean.
Fair warning, however — you’ve got your work cut out for you.
Danny Savalza and crew don’t bow down. Ever.
