Who needs teammates?
Making his season debut Thursday, the one-man wrecking crew that is the Coupeville High School boys’ golf team — Austin Fields — crushed all of his rivals, and it wasn’t close.
Carding a 39 over nine holes at Jackson Park, Fields was three strokes better than any golfer King’s could throw at him and five strokes ahead of the best of his traveling companions from South Whidbey.
Playing with pin-point precision, he threw down the gauntlet with a three on the third hole, while most of the competition settled for six or seven strokes on the hole.
From there he rolled, not allowing the soggy conditions to deter him from laying down a beat-down.
The Lone Wolf howls tonight!
