So they did, and they went out and ran Saturday morning at the crack of dawn, 185 strong, to raise money for the Central Whidbey Co-Op Preschool.
The 2nd annual Shamrock 5K brought runners of all ages and ability-levels together, with Kurt Warwick of South Whidbey crossing the line first in 16 minutes, 59 seconds.
“We nearly doubled the number of runners this year compared to last!,” said event organizer Joline LeVine. “The Kids Dash was a huge success with lots of kids! Every runner (kids and adults) left with some serious swag, and we gave away over 40 prizes! All in all it was a success.”
