“Listen up, gentlemen, as I tell you a tale of the world’s most awesome golfer. Spoiler alert … it’s me!!”
Austin Fields 2, private school golfers 0.
Kicking off his senior year in dramatic fashion, Coupeville High School’s lone male golfer won his second straight tourney Monday afternoon.
Making it sweeter, he not only beat all of his training partners from South Whidbey, but he crushed the dreams of the upper crust as well, spanking the best King’s could throw at him.
At this rate, the only golfer with a chance to take him down might be younger sister Christine. The sophomore Wolf kicks her season off this week.
The elder Fields fired a 58 over 12 holes, the only player in a field of 21 varsity players (from five schools) to crack 60.
K.C. Spencer of Granite Falls and Jeffrey Coats of King’s were the closest to the Lone Wolf, finishing two strokes behind the unflappable one.
