Stop me if you’ve heard this one before.
Austin Fields plays a golf match. Austin Fields destroys the field.
Pick a town. Pick a course. The Coupeville High School senior is going to crush your very soul this season.
Thursday he was in Duvall at the Carnation Golf and Country Club, and his hapless foes were golfers from Cedarcrest and South Whidbey, as the lone Wolf rolled to his fourth medalist win in as many matches this season.
Fields fired a 57 over 14 holes, edging his closest rival, Cedarcrest duffer Mitchell Frimodt, by three strokes.
Cedarcrest won the team match, knocking off the Falcons by 13 strokes. Not that anyone in Coupeville cares.
Back on the Island, lil’ sis Christine Fields faced off with the same two squads and finished second in her match. Playing at the Useless Bay Golf and Country Club, she carded a 26 using the Stableford scoring system, while Falcons Jenna Kiak and Rosie Portillo each recorded a 28.
