Cedarcrest sizzled on offense and Coupeville got run right out of the gym.

Despite some nice play from the duo of Breeanna Messner and Hailey Hammer, the Coupeville High School volleyball squad fell hard at Duvall Tuesday, losing 25-17, 25-11, 25-8 to the host Red Wolves.

“Cedarcrest ran a quick offense and we just could not find an answer for it tonight,” said CHS coach Kirsty Croghan.

The loss capped a four-game road trip for the Wolves (1-8 overall, 0-8 in Cascade Conference play), who return home to host Granite Falls Thursday. Coupeville will play four of its final six regular season matches on The Rock.

Tuesday, the best stat lines went to senior captain Messner (8 of 8 on serves, 17 of 18 on returns, 16 of 19 on defense, four kills at the net) and big hitting junior Hammer (three kills, 5 of 6 at the service stripe).

Seniors Amanda Fabrizi (21 of 26 on service returns, 17 of 21 on defense) and Haley Sherman (8 of 9 on service returns) and sophomore setter Sydney Autio (eight assists) chipped in, as well.
