The Queen is back. Long live the Queen.
Beset by rain, illness and family vacations, Coupeville High School junior Christine Fields has only competed in a handful of golf matches this season.
But a handful is all she needs to hold on to her crown.
Staring down the best South Whidbey and Archbishop Thomas Murphy could throw at her Monday, the one-woman Wolf wrecking crew rolled to an impressive win.
Playing at her home-away-from-home course at Useless Bay Golf and Country Club, Fields carded a 29 using modified Stableford scoring.
That easily brought her medalist honors, with South Whidbey’s Rosie Portillo (26) the only other duffer within shouting distance.
In the team competition, the host Falcons bounced ATM 75-42.
