Coupeville’s velvet voice is picking up the microphone as part of a benefit for the Oak Harbor Music Festival.
Recent CHS grad Andy Walker will open for nationally-known singer Austin Jenckes Saturday night in a concert set for the Oak Harbor Roller Barn.
The event runs from 7-10 PM and tickets, which are $20 in advance, are on sale now.
The concert is a fundraiser for the music festival, which is slated for Aug. 29-31 this year.
The festival gives back by funding musical students on Whidbey, such as Walker, who has received a $1,000 scholarship.
In the fall he will attend the University of Northern Colorado.
Jenckes, who hails from Duvall, got his big break when he appeared on NBC’s singing show “The Voice,” where he was coached by country music superstar Blake Shelton.
