Ground and pound.

Whether on the mat or the sand, former Coupeville supernova Izzy LeVine continues to shred foes in the world of wrestling.

The younger sis of Micky and Jae was at the heartbeat of the sport in Fargo for the US Marine Corps Nationals, where she went 2-2 against top-level competition.

LeVine opened by crunching a rival from North Carolina 11-0, before winning a 6-5 thriller against a North Dakota girl who is ranked #10 in the nation.

Close losses to grapplers from Indiana and Ohio prevented the Arizona-based former Wolf from placing, but she immediately rebounded.

Transitioning to a new surface at the Beach Nationals, she captured a bronze medal to cap her wild week.

“We are very proud of all her hard work!” said dad Sean.

Izzy, who grew up in Coupeville as her older siblings starred on CHS soccer, tennis, softball, volleyball, and basketball teams, currently attends Casteel High School in Chandler Heights, Arizona.

The warrior of the wrestling mat needs our help.

Izzy LeVine, who grew up in Coupeville and now is an award-winning grappler in Arizona, has qualified for the world’s largest youth national tournament, which goes down this summer in Fargo, North Dakota.

It would be the second-straight trip to nationals for the Casteel High School sophomore.

LeVine is deeply committed to perfecting the dark arts of the wrestling mat, competing year-round in both folkstyle and freestyle.

A member of the Arizona National Team, she’s a state meet veteran and an All-American.

To get to Fargo, LeVine is currently raising money to cover the costs of training camps, travel, and team expenses.

She’s set up a GoFundMe, and for every donation of $20 or more, she’ll send you a WARRIOR bracelet, which “symbolizes the mindset needed to compete at a high level and reflects my Native heritage.”

Izzy LeVine and the parental units.

She’s grapplin’ across the USA.

Former Coupeville supernova Izzy LeVine, who lives in Arizona these days, continues to pursue excellence on the wrestling mat.

The Casteel High School sophomore’s latest venture was a performance this past weekend in the girls’ high school showcase division at the 2024 US Open Championships in Las Vegas.

LeVine, who grew up on Whidbey as the youngest of Sean and Joline’s three mega-talented daughters, went 2-2 in the 135-pound weight class against some of the best competition in the country.

She entered as the #13 seed (out of 30 grapplers) and knocked off the current Utah state champion (6-0) and a wrestler from Colorado (12-2), while narrowly falling short against competitors from Michigan and California.

To be in the field, a wrestler had to have placed in their state tourney, as LeVine did, or be an All-American.

Micky and Jae’s lil’ sis is “looking forward to working toward qualifying again for next year!” according to her PR man, who doubles as her father.

Izzy LeVine and proud pops Sean.

Not Coupeville, maybe, but closer.

Former Wolf Izzy LeVine, who now attends school in Arizona, was back in Washington state this weekend, competing at the US Marine Corps Women’s National Championships wrestling tourney in Spokane.

While there, the youngest member of the LeVine clan split four matches, winning two and losing two while missing the quarterfinals by just a single match.

And she’ll be back.

“She gained some awesome national experience and will still be able to compete in U17 again here next year!” said dad Sean LeVine.

Izzy, currently a sophomore at Casteel High School in Chandler Heights, is the younger sister of Coupeville Sports Hall o’ Famers Micky and Jae LeVine.

During her Cow Town days, she used to give me rocks at Jae’s softball games, while now she has grown up to rock fools on the wrestling mat.

She still rules the mat.

Her school season is over, but former Coupeville supernova Izzy LeVine is right back at it, with the start of freestyle wrestling.

And by right back at it, I mean right back at thumping fools and taking names.

Micky and Jae’s ever feisty lil’ sis was bumped up three weight classes for her freestyle opener, yet still went out and drilled everyone in her path, winning a title and making a loud statement.

Izzy, now a sophomore at Casteel High School, qualified for Arizona’s national team for the third straight year, while also punching her ticket to the US Marine Corps Nationals – the world’s largest youth wrasslin’ tourney.

“Super proud of her performance today!” said proud pops Sean.

It will be a return trip to Fargo for the LeVine family, as the youngest of Joline’s three mega-star daughters also competed at nationals a year ago.
