It’s the biggest show of the year.

The annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show is in its 149th edition and returned to the white-hot spotlight of Madison Square Garden for the first time in five years.

Among the competitors, and making a return trip, was Coupeville High School senior Gabriella Gebhard.

The accomplished dog handler was accompanied by Everest (Set’r Ridge’s Climbing to the Top), who she whelped, trained, and groomed since birth.

Gebhard has been one of the top Juniors in the country over the past couple of years, with her and her pooches bringing home a truckload of ribbons and trophies.

“What a career!”

Stephanie Gebhard has had a front row seat as daughter Gabriella has taken the dog show world by storm over the past several years.

Now, one section of that run is coming to a close for the Coupeville High School senior, as she ages out of the world of Juniors dog handlers.

Competing at Royal Canin 2024 with Everest (Set’r Ridge’s Climbing to the Top).

But, as she makes the transition, Gabriella Gebhard (and her pooches) continue to rake in the awards and qualify for the big shows.

The CHS student, who is ranked #3 in Sporting Juniors across the USA in 2024, participated in the recent Royal Canin show in Orlando.

Gebhard is slated to show at Westminster — the premium event in the dog show world — in February at Madison Square Garden and has qualified for Royal Canin 2025 and Westminster 2026.

She did all that by going on a ribbon-winning tear during her final five weeks on the road as a Juniors competitor, assuring her a chance to return to her domain for visits even after aging out.

On point, always.

Let the ribbons rain down.

It’s a new year, but the same great results for Gabriella Gebhard and her main pooch.

The Coupeville High School junior continues to dominate the world of American Kennel Club dog showing, working with her English Setter Walker (Set’r Ridge’s Legend in the Making).

Beating a field of 72 juniors at one event, Gebhard claimed Reserve Best, then followed that up by claiming the largest ribbon of the event by winning the Best of the Best competition.

Traveling from city to city, and state to state, the duo added to their wins with a particularly strong showing at an event in Portland.

In her time in the dog showing world, Gebhard has been on a roll, qualifying for and competing at the Royal Canin AKC nationals and the vaunted Westminster Dog Show.

“Why yes, I am a good doggo.”

Gabriella Gebhard continues to take the world of dog showing by storm.

The Coupeville High School sophomore competed in the AKC National Championship presented by Royal Canin in Orlando, Florida this weekend.

It was her second-straight trip to the event, but not the end of her adventure, as the 147th Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show awaits in May 2023.

With strong performances this season, Gebhard is actually halfway to qualifying for the 2024 edition of Westminster as well.

While in Florida she claimed multiple awards with the most experienced of her pooches, Walker (Set’r Ridge’s Legend in the Making).

Who’s a good dog?

The duo, who are ranked #7 in the nation, made it through three cuts, and Gebhard claimed 2nd place for handlers who own and show their own dogs.

They also earned their fourth Best Junior award during a season which began Oct. 1.

“Successful show for sure!” said mom Stephanie.

On to more championships!

Gabriella Gebhard is on her way to the big time.

The Coupeville High School rising sophomore, among the best in the nation in her age group of competitive dog handlers, has earned an invite to the biggest show on the books.

Coming off of two more wins as Best Junior at AKC Sporting Dog and All Breed Shows, Gebhard has qualified for the Westminster Dog Show.

The premier event on the circuit, it started in 1877 and has run uninterrupted through the Great Depression, world wars and pandemics.

Gebhard will participate in the 147th edition of Westminster, which is slated for next summer.

To qualify, she had to earn seven Best Junior awards between Oct. 1, 2021 and Sept. 30, 2022.

Wins #6 and #7 came in Enumclaw, where she teamed up with her faithful canine companion, Walker (Set’r Ridge’s Legend in the Making) to win a Grand Championship.

While that duo is Westminster-bound, Gebhard also has Set’r Ridge’s Climbing to the Top (Everest), who bagged two wins and a Best of Opposite award.

Perfect form, and the awards keep coming.

Altogether, Gebhard has three setters, including Set’r Ridge’s Eternal Faith, and each of the trio is a champion.

While Westminster is the internationally known, broadcast on TV main event, Gebhard and her pooches have plenty of other shows ahead on the schedule.

That includes the Royal Canin AKC nationals, set for Dec. 17-18 in Orlando.

“She (Gabriella) is over the moon,” said mom Stephanie. “We are so excited!”

Westminster-bound.
