Coupeville High School freshman Skyy Lippo will be one of the dancers displaying their stellar ballet moves when the Whidbey Island Dance Theatre presents its rendition of “Giselle.”
Giselle is a romantic ballet first performed by the Ballet du Théâtre de l’Académie Royale de Musique at the Salle Le Peletier in Paris in 1841.
It tells the tale of a peasant girl who dies of a broken heart after discovering her lover is gettin’ hitched to someone else.

The Wilis, a group of supernatural women who dance men to death, bring Giselle back from her grave with the intention of taking out her former crush.
Spoiler: the plan fails and love wins the day.
Performances are April 24-26 at South Whidbey High School’s Performing Arts Center (5675 Maxwelton Rd in Langley), with showtimes 7 PM Friday, 2 and 7 Saturday and 2 Sunday.
