Don’t leave money sitting on the table.

The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association is offering three $5,000 scholarships and 12 $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors.

The Smart Choices Scholarship Program, which honors Class of 2024 students for athletics/activities, leadership, academics, and community service, is funded by Gesa Credit Union, the Dairy Farmers of Washington, and Les Schwab Tires.

Applications are due by Mar. 15, 2024.

To be eligible, you need to be a full-time student in grade 12 with a minimum GPA of 3.0.

If you receive a scholarship, you have to enroll as a full-time student at a college, university, community college, trade or vocational school for the 2024 fall semester.

The winners will be determined based on the following formula:

Athletic/Activity Excellence (30%)
Academic Achievement (30%)
Leadership (20%)
Citizenship/Community Service (10%)
Essay Originality/Creativity (5%)
Financial Need (5%)

There’s $27,000 in scholarships on the table, and some of it could come to Coupeville.

The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association is accepting applications through April 1 for its annual Smart Choices Scholarship Program.

There are three $5,000 scholarships, and a flurry of $1,000 bonuses available to students in the Class of 2022.

The program is funded by Gesa Credit Union, the Dairy Farmers of Washington, and Les Schwab Tires.

Excellence in athletics/activities, academics, leadership, and community service are considered by judges.

To be eligible, students must be a senior, have a minimum 3.0 grade point average, and be enrolled as a full-time student in a WIAA member high school such as Coupeville.

If you receive a scholarship, you have to graduate at the end of the 2021-22 school year, and enroll as a full-time student at a college, university, community college, trade or vocational school for the 2022 fall semester.

Coupeville High School seniors have two weeks left to get in the running for a $5,000 college scholarship.

The 2020 Smart Choices Scholarships are offered by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association, the Dairy Farmers of Washington, and Les Schwab Tires.

The program, in its eighth go-round, honors one female and one male high school student for their achievements in athletics/activities, the community, and the classroom.

While the winners net $5,000 apiece, eight other finalists also receive $1,000 scholarships.

The deadline to apply is April 1.

Seniors need to fill out an online application and write a short essay on “How you plan to use your education to benefit others.”

Judging is based on athletic/activity excellence (35%), academic achievement (35%), leadership (15%), citizenship/community service (10%), and originality/creativity of the essay (5%).

They’re just begging to give you the money.

You have 18 days to make $5,000.

Apr. 1 is the deadline for senior high school student/athletes to apply for the 2019 Smart Choices Scholarship.

The program, run by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association, Dairy Farmers of Washington, and Les Schwab Tires, offers two $5,000 first-place scholarships, as well as eight $1,000 runner-up awards.

Winners are split between female and male athletes.

The awards recognize students for their achievements in athletics/activities, the community, and the classroom.

To be eligible, you need to fill out an on-line application, as well as write a short essay or film a personal statement video on “how you plan to use your education to benefit others.”

When applications are judged, it breaks down to 35% athletic/activity excellence, 35% academic achievement, 15% leadership, 10% citizenship/community service, and 5% on originality/creativity of the essay or video.
