So now you’re trolling Instagram for content?

Of course, I am.

Doing so enables me to drop some new photos of Coupeville grad Madison McMillan repping her college softball uniform in advance of the spring season.

Edmonds College kicks off play Feb. 20 against Mt. Hood, with a 32-game campaign running through early May.

McMillan, who made her living belting home runs which soared off the CHS diamond and landed down around Prairie Center, is a freshman for the Tritons.

She carries a big bat and she’s not afraid to swing it.

Coupeville grad Madison McMillan, known for launching high school home runs that left the CHS diamond and ended up bouncing around the parking lot down at Prairie Center, is still cracking lasers.

Now playing fall ball as a freshman at Edmonds College, the former Wolf ace picked up a pair of hits Sunday against Mount Hood College while playing at Husky Softball Stadium at the University of Washington.

Madison’s hits were both “hard knocks up the middle,” according to Grandpa Gordon, who was on hand to witness the hit parade.

The only thing keeping the savage slugger from adding to her hit total was an appearance by Mother Nature, as game #2 of a planned doubleheader was called due to rain and lightning.

During her CHS days, Madison was a three-sport star for the Wolves, starring for volleyball, basketball, and softball teams, and helping the spikers and sluggers make stellar runs at the state tourney.

Wednesday was for the fan club.

Coupeville High School senior Madison McMillan signed her letter of intent to play softball for Edmonds College, in an event which gave her many supporters a chance to hail their favorite slugger.

Family, friends, coaches, teammates and classmates, all on hand to celebrate a major milestone for an amazing young woman.

One of Coupeville’s brightest athletic stars has landed her next gig.

While Madison McMillan still has two more seasons of high school sports to finish, with basketball underway and softball beckoning in the spring, the CHS senior has signed a letter of intent to play college ball afterwards.

The power-hitting third baseman is slated to join the softball program at Edmonds College, with the Tritons making the announcement on their Instagram page.

Madison McMillan, granddaughter of Gordon McMillan and Nancy Conard, is a standout student and athlete who also happens to be a remarkable young woman in all aspects.

As part of a tight-knit group of female athletes who have played together since elementary school, she is one of the foremost faces of the CHS Class of 2025.

McMillan has had a major impact on the volleyball court, as a hoops star, and as a diamond dandy, with her playing both high school and travel ball in the latter pursuit.

She and her fellow seniors sparked the Wolf volleyball program to its best season in school history this fall.

With McMillan and company working as a unit, CHS was undefeated until the final day of the season, went 18-2, won league and bi-district titles, and captured 4th place at the 2B state tourney.

While the Wolf warrior sparkles in every one of her pursuits, softball is the sport where she has arguably had the biggest impact.

Whether drilling home runs over the fence, turning on the wheels to get an extra base in crunch time, or whipping a frozen rope across the field to nail a runner, McMillan is, as they said in O Brother, Where Art Thou, “bonafide.”

Edmonds hit a grand slam with this signing.

A class act.

Nezi Keiper

Put Nezi Keiper on a soccer pitch, and she’s a star.

It was true in high school, and it remains true in college.

Keiper, a 2023 Coupeville High School grad, capped her debut season at Edmonds College with a pair of honors.

The freshman defender was honored by Northwest Athletic Conference coaches recently by being named as a First-Team All-Region player for her play on the pitch.

The NWAC has four regions, and Keiper and Edmonds play in the North.

The former Wolf was also selected for the annual NWAC Women’s Soccer All-Star Game, which went down Sunday at Starfire Stadium in Tukwila.

During her time in Coupeville, Keiper was a standout student/athlete.

The best player on one of the last Wolf middle school football teams, she went on to have successful runs as a soccer and basketball player while in high school.

A team captain and First-Team All-Conference pick for CHS, Keiper is also a member of the Coupeville Sports Hall o’ Fame.
