There’s a new Eck to contend with.

As older brothers, and current CHS multi-sport stars Gabe and Ty refereed, Diesel Eck made his wrestling debut over the weekend with the Whidbey Wildcat Wrestling Club at the Wildcat Novice Showdown.

One of five grapplers at the tourney with a Coupeville connection, Diesel finished fourth, while teammates Gracy Woollet, Jacob Barajas and Lita Woolett all claimed second.

Seth Woolett rounded out the Wolves, finishing third in his weight class.

Lita Woollet was back on the wrestling mat and taking no prisoners.

The Coupeville Middle School 6th grader won both of her matches Sunday to capture a weight-class title at the Skagit Valley Novice Challenge.

Her championship, coming in the Novice 55-62 group, came via a decision and a fall, with Woollet beating male wrestlers in both matches.

Competing with the Whidbey Wildcat Wrestling Club, she was one of five Coupeville grapplers to see action on the day, with teammates Seth Woollett and Kholtin Reed both capturing second-place finishes in their class.

Dylan Estes was on a roll.

The Coupeville Middle School sixth grader won all four of his wrestling matches Sunday — three by fall — at the Wildcat Thanksgiving Throwdown in Oak Harbor.

His title in the Novice 70 class was the top performance delivered by a Wolf, as three Coupeville grapplers competed for the Whidbey Wildcat Wrestling Club.

Coupeville Elementary second-graders Gracy Woollet and Jacob Barajas each claimed third place.
