Whidbey is going to state.
Coming off of a gold-medal performance at regionals in Stanwood Feb. 9, a group of Special Olympics basketball players from The Rock will go the Big Dance this weekend.
The Junior/Senior team (for players 21 and under) includes players from South, Central and North Whidbey.
Whidbey’s Masters Team (over 21) grabbed the bronze at regionals, as well.
The teams are coached by Mike Etzell and David Bishop.
