Hunter Hammer, All-American college track athlete and accomplished baby-sitter.

Hunter Hammer is a two-timer.

All-American that is. Two-time All-American.

The former Coupeville High School basketball and track legend finished third in the shot put at the National Christian College Athletic Association finals in Rome, Georgia this weekend, earning that status.

Representing Trinity Lutheran, his final throw in the shot put went 14.60 meters.

He was an All-American last year in the discus, an event he took 13th in this time around.

Hammer also placed fifth in the hammer throw (45.85 meters), and the ten points he earned accounted for more than half of his team’s 19 points.

The Trinity Lutheran men finished 15th in the team standings, with Shorter University taking home the NCCAA championship banner.

Hammer’s female teammates placed 22nd overall.

During his time as a Wolf, the six-foot-seven, wildly outgoing Hammer broke almost all of the school’s throwing records, while also being a dominant player for the boys’ basketball squad.

After graduation, he competed at Everett Community College for two seasons before joining the brand-new track program at Trinity.

The Page Hit King is an All-American.

Coupeville High School grad Hunter Hammer, who now throws at Trinity Lutheran College, finished third in the discus at the NCCAA (National Christian College Athletic Association) outdoor track and field championships in Georgia Friday.

His throw of 46.46 meters was good enough to earn him All-American status, while scoring big points for his squad in the team battle.

Hammer also finished fifth in the event named after him — the hammer throw — with a hurl of 47.39.

He will wrap up his tournament with an appearance in the shot put final Saturday. He is seeded tenth in the field.

During his time as a Wolf, Hammer was a star basketball player and shattered most of the school’s throwing records.

He continued on as a thrower for Everett Community College for two seasons before following his throwing coach to Trinity.

Hunter Hammer is making history, one throw at a time.

The Coupeville High School grad, and one true Page Hit King, is competing for the inaugural track team at Trinity Lutheran College in Everett.

And now, two meets into the season, he’s already qualified for the National Christian College Athletic Association national track and field championships.

Hammer notched personal records in the shot put (47 feet, one inch) and hammer throw (148-4) at the HUB City Open in Centralia Mar. 15.

He placed second in both the hammer and discus, while claiming third in the shot put, and is qualified for the NCCAA’s in all three events.

He is currently ranked #1 in the NCCAA in the shot put.

Trinity Lutheran was founded in 1944, but is fielding a track team for the first time this season. Hammer joined throws coach Mary Parker in making the jump from Everett Community College.
