The dastardly brains behind the operation are, left to right, Aimee Bishop, Linda Hammer, Shelli Trumbull, MaryAnn Engle, Christy Kellison, Tami Aparicio and Bob Martin, which leaves one to assume Kim Andrews is behind the camera.
Alert the authorities! The Coupeville High School Booster Club plans to shut the town down!!
Oh sure, they’ll claim it’s for the good of the citizens, but come 3 PM on Friday, Oct. 5, you’re not going to be able to drive through town without running into someone celebrating. And here I had planned to be all moody and stuff that afternoon…
The event that will turn all of our frowns upside down is the second annual Homecoming parade, set to tie into events later that night when the Wolves host Granite Falls.
The parade, which will feature the fall sports teams (minus the boys’ tennis team, which will be clobbering Friday Harbor that afternoon), the homecoming court, floats from each class, alumni, cheerleaders and the school band, will be led by marshals Denny and Marci Zylstra.
Staging will begin at the baseball field parking lot and then parade participants will head out Terry Road to Main Street, before hitting Front Street, Alexander and Coveland and then starting a return to the high school by shooting up Broadway.
