Anthony Maggio is coming back!

At least that’s how it’s looking right now, as the Coupeville High School senior lineman has responded extremely well to antibiotics for a staph infection. While it first looked like the anchor of the Wolf line might miss the entire season, there is now real hope he will be back on the field for Coupeville’s Homecoming game against Granite Falls Friday, Oct. 5.

“I think we will try to have Anthony back maybe mid-week next week — Tuesday, Wednesday-ish,” said Wolf coach (and dad) Tony Maggio. “He seems to be looking pretty good. Don’t anticipate playing him both ways, but he should be able to go one way.”

Just call it a Homecoming miracle.
