Wolf football capped the first season of the Tony Maggio era with an awards shindig Thursday night.
Food was eaten, trophies and certificates were handed out, the Cascade Conference AD’s were slagged for refusing to consider CHS players for All-Conference selection, and, in the evening’s biggest twist, Maggio was spotted for possibly the first time ever in long pants (photographic proof up above).
Five players shared the top awards, with Jake Tumblin taking home the Offensive Player of the Year and Caleb Valko making off with the Defensive Player of the Year. Nick Streubel was the Offensive Lineman of the Year, Josh Bayne earned Most Improved and Ben Haight was selected for the Coaches Award.
Leading the letter winners were seniors Riley Boyd, Serigio Guerro, Kole Kellison, Anthony Maggio, Danny Savalza and Valko.
Joining them were juniors Brett Arnold, Jared Dickson, Joey Edwards, Bryce Fleming, Haight, Gunnar Langvold, Wade Schaef, Streubel and Tumblin, sophomores Bayne, Matthew Hampton, Korbin Korzan, Oscar Liquidano, Carson Risner and Aaron Wright and freshmen Wiley Hesselgrave and Lathom Kelley.
Earning JV certificates were Raymond Beiriger, Anthony Bergeron, Ryan Griggs, Caleb Hampton, Kyle Kendall, Auston Kirk, Jacob Lord, Josh Lord, Mitchell Losey, Dalton Martin, Cole Payne and Alex Schmakeit.
