I blame my creditors.

Since I have to work a normal job to pay my bills, I have to balance covering sports with the drudgery that actually, you know, allows me to have food and rent. And, so far this season, that job schedule has butted up head-on with the middle school volleyball schedule.

Which is why I haven’t been able to sit through four hours of spikes and sets (yes, four hours … I remember basketball season, thanks) any of these afternoons.

To make up for it — a bit — we offer nine glossy photos of Coupeville Middle School’s volleyball players in action Monday. It’s a mix of seventh and eighth grade play and was snapped by John Fisken.
