Brittany Powers live for the rush.
The Coupeville High School freshman, who’s in her second season as a volleyball player, has played numerous sports over the years.
Soccer, baseball and basketball have all captured her attention.
But right now, being on the volleyball court and directing traffic as a setter for the Wolf JV spikers, Powers has found her groove.
And what is that?
“The rush you get when you send the ball over!”
Powers picked up volleyball as an eighth grader (“so I could try something new”) and has been a quick learner.
She is fairly confident in her serving and setting, but would like to fine-tune some other areas of her game.
“I would like to work on my spiking,” Powers said. “To be a team leader and get one spike over.”
Away from the game, she enjoys going to the beach with friends and longboarding.
Her support crew, on the volleyball court and off, is always there for her, providing Powers with inspiration.
“My mom, dad and friends have always been there for me to push me to keep going.”
