Coupeville grad Joey Lippo is pulling double duty at the University of Maine at Presque Isle, playing for the school’s baseball and golf squads.
His best performance as a college duffer came Thursday, when he topped the Owls scoring chart at the Mariner Invitational at Augusta, Maine.
Lippo carded an 88 on the 6,214-yard course, his best round at UMPI.
The Owls placed fifth in the team standings, with Thomas College holding off the field to claim the crown.
Lippo and Co. play twice this weekend, facing off with Husson University Saturday, before joining the SMCC Invitational Sunday.
The season wraps with the North Atlantic Conference Championships Oct. 8-9 in Waterville.
