He’s tasted collegiate water.
Coupeville grad Finn Price made his debut with the Whitman College men’s swim team this weekend, competing in a pair of meets in Tacoma.
The Blues opened their season at Pacific Lutheran University Friday, before diving in against the University of Puget Sound Saturday.
Price, a freshman majoring in Film and Media Studies, swam in three events against PLU, winning his heat in the 50 free in 24.72 seconds, while also participating in a pair of relays, the 400 free and 400 medley.
He had the fastest time in his group in the second of those two team races.
Saturday Price swam in the 100 free, finishing 5th in 52.81, and the 200 free, hitting the wall 7th in 1:58.45, while setting PRs in both events.
Whitman returns to action November 13-14 when it hosts Linfield University followed by Willamette University.
Price was a three-time state meet qualifier during his Cow Town days, despite CHS not having its own swim program.
Instead, the Lone Wolf trained and traveled with Kamiak, a 4A school in Mukilteo, before breaking off on his own each postseason.
