You can’t hold him down.

Coupeville grad Dominic Coffman continues to tear up the football gridiron in Spain, helping his team achieve great success.

Sunday the Las Rozas Black Demons crunched the Zaragoza Hurricanes to get to 6-0 on the season.

Coffman was a big part of that win, churning away for 130 yards on 15 carries, netting a career-best 8.6 yards per rush.

The Black Demons get back at it this coming weekend, putting their undefeated record on the line against Gijon.

During his time at Coupeville High School, Coffman, a 2023 grad, advanced to the state tournament in football, basketball, and track and field.

He was the Northwest 2B/1B League MVP during his senior season of football and was part of a 4 x 100 relay team which finished second at the 2B state meet.

The Rock will be repped at the season’s last game.

While no Coupeville or Oak Harbor players made the cut this year, South Whidbey senior quarterback Cody Redford has been selected to participate in the Earl Barden Classic.

The game, which goes down June 21 in Yakima, is an all-star event featuring seniors from 2A, 1A, 2B, and 1B football programs.

In the past, Coupeville stars such as Mike Bagby, Dominic Coffman, Josh Bayne, and Ryan Labrador have received the call.

Redford, a dual threat both as a runner and passer, led South Whidbey to back-to-back wins in the annual Bucket Game with Coupeville the past two seasons, and is currently playing basketball for the Falcons.

Among his projected teammates at the summer game, if everyone accepts their invite, are gridiron stars from two-time 2A state champ Anacortes, as well as 2B powers Onalaska and Napavine.

Also on the West roster are players from two other 1A teams Coupeville played this past fall — Klahowya and Cedar Park Christian-Bothell.

Give him the ball and get out of his way.

Coupeville grad Dominic Coffman continues to carve up the football field in Spain, where the former Wolf star plays for the Las Bravas Black Demons.

This past Sunday he picked up 108 rushing yards and a touchdown to help spur his gridiron crew to a second-straight win to open a new season.

With wins over Osos and Zaragoza, the Black Demons are a crisp 2-0.

During his time at CHS, Coffman went to state in football, basketball, and track and field, bringing home a second-place medal in the 4 x 100 relay as a senior.

Dominic Coffman

Dominic Coffman continues to run amok in Spain.

The Coupeville High School grad cracked the defense for two touchdowns on the ground Saturday, churning and burning his way to gridiron glory to help his football team advance to another championship game.

With the former Wolf pounding away for close to 100 yards as a rusher, the Las Bravas Black Demons destroyed the Mallorca Voltors 46-0 in a semifinal matchup.

Coffman and Co. now advance to the title game Dec. 17 to play the Badalona Dracs, who blanked the Hospitalet Pioners 27-0 in the day’s other game.

This is the second season of playing American football abroad for the former Northwest 2B/1B League MVP, as he helped Las Bravas win the Spanish Cup in his debut campaign.

During his Coupeville days, Coffman, a 2023 grad, went to state in football, basketball, and track and field, joining Jonathan Valenzuela as the only Wolf boys to pull off the trifecta since at least the ’70s.

In his final state appearance, he was part of a CHS 4 x 100 relay unit which finished second.

One final honor for a pack of Wolves.

With three Coupeville High School players selected on both sides of the ball, seven players from the 2024 gridiron squad landed All-League status when coaches voted.

Among the seven schools in the Northwest 2B/1B League, Orcas Island and Mount Vernon Christian don’t play football, while La Conner, Concrete, and Darrington are currently competing as eight-man teams.

That leaves Coupeville and Friday Harbor as the only 11-man units.

From that talent pool, Wolf quarterback Chase Anderson, who scored a team-high 99 points, was tabbed as the league’s Offensive MVP.

Joining him as First-Team picks on the offensive side of the ball were receiver Jack Porter, tight end Hunter Bronec, and linemen Marcelo Gebhard and Riley Lawless.

Wolf running back Johnny Porter was tabbed for honorable mention status.

Wolf seniors Marcelo Gebhard (54), Hunter Bronec (34), and Jack Porter earned recognition for stellar seasons.

On defense, Anderson (defensive back), Jack Porter (lineman), and linebackers Gebhard, Marquette Cunningham, and Johnny Porter were First-Team picks.

Lawless is a sophomore, Anderson and Cunningham are juniors, while Gebhard, Bronec, and the Porter twins are seniors.

Coupeville, which finished 5-4 overall, 1-1 in league play, also earned the team sportsmanship award.
