Your eyes do not deceive you.

Coupeville Middle School track coaches have posted results for the second meet in a row.

Either they’re getting better at this, or I’ve just ticked them off so badly at this point they figure it’s the only way to shut me up.

Nice try.

And on the eighth day, there were track results, and it was good.

No, results from the first Coupeville Middle School track meet back on April 25 still haven’t appeared on athletic.net, but, lo and behold, the results from Wednesday’s home meet did, just hours after the meet.

It’s a miracle.

So there you go, Luke Merriman. Your life is complete now.

The young guns. (Ann Merriman photo)

The young guns. (Ann Merriman photo)

One week out and still no posted results.

At this point, I’m starting to assume the Coupeville Middle School track coaches may never (ever, ever) post results from last Tuesday’s season-opening meet in Langley.

So, if you’re a CMS athlete and you’ve been inquiring as to when you’ll get some time in the spotlight, you have two choices — accept it or loudly tell your coaches every day you want to see your name in bold type.

Up to you guys and how dedicated you are to the cause of being a pain in the rear.

But, thanks to Eileen Stone, I can make sure that all of you get your name in print at least once this season. So, there’s that.

The 2013 CMS track rosters:

7th grade:

Noah Allison
Lauren Bayne
Laurence Boado
Kyla Briscoe
Maggie Crimmins
Hayley Dauphinais
Hunter Downes
Paul Gallahar

Payton Aparicio, softball slugger. (Tami Aparicio photo)

Several members of this year’s Coupeville High School softball squad have younger sisters who will one day take their spots on the the diamond.

One of those is junior Sydney Aparicio, whose lil’ sis, 7th grader Payton, was a star basketball player during the winter for Coupeville Middle School. Now, with a change in seasons, she’s boppin’ home runs for her little league softball squad.

In the photo above, she perfectly captures that mix of, “I’m super happy” and “Mom!!! Stop taking my picture!!”

If you have a softball or baseball player in little league and want to see them featured here like Payton, get out your cameras or camera phones and get clicking. My pages await your photos.

It’s gonna be a bit.

The one thing I have learned this week is that middle school track results will NOT be posted as quickly as high school results are.

Whether track guru Randy King is simply a faster typist or he’s some sort of streamlined, stat-spewing cyborg, Coupeville High School results are fresh and steaming hot on athletic.net mere hours after a meet wraps.

For the people out there hankering for Coupeville Middle School results from Tuesday’s meet in Langley (Luke Merriman shout-out!), well, it’s Thursday PM and nope, not there.

Lakewood and Langley have posted their results, but I don’t think many in Coupeville were wondering if Langley 8th grader Chase Barthbelt won the shot put.

He did.

If you do know Mr. Barthbelt, tell him two things — congrats, and with a name like that (second only to, and I’m not making this up, Lakewood’s Elena Everybodytalksabout), you would get SO much ink on this web site if you moved to Coupeville.

Talk to your parents.

Oh yes, and Coupeville’s results? They are coming and they will be posted here, some day. Probably about the same time Mr. Barthbelt is in his third meet.
