One more award before the season is officially done.

Former Coupeville supernova Izzy LeVine, now a top-level high school grappler in Arizona, was named to the All-Chandler United School District girls’ wrestling team.

Micky and Jae’s lil’ sis, who placed fourth at the state meet during her sophomore season at Casteel High School, was honored as the best in the 126-pound class.

CUSD, the second-largest school district in Arizona, serves 43,000+ students from K-12 and boasts six high schools.

LeVine, who grew up haunting the ballfields and gyms in Cow Town before a family move plucked her from Whidbey prior to high school, went 47-5 during her most-recent season.

She won three of five matches at the state tourney, including a narrow loss to eventual state champ Brianna Reyes, a senior.

Both of her sisters, and dad Sean, are all members of the Coupeville Sports Hall o’ Fame, and mom Joline should probably be in there too.

Izzy LeVine took a chomp out of Arizona wrestling.

The Casteel High School sophomore, who grew up haunting the ballfields and gyms of Coupeville, claimed fourth place at the state wrestling meet Saturday in Phoenix.

Izzy, the rampaging “lil’ sis” of Coupeville Sports Hall o’ Fame inductees Micky and Jae LeVine, won three of five matches.

Competing in the 126-pound class, the tenacious one opened with two wins Friday, before losing a close one to eventual state champ Brianna Reyes, a senior.

LeVine bounced back Saturday during action at Veterans Memorial Coliseum, pinning her first foe before being edged out in the 3rd/4th place bout.

She finishes the high school season with a sterling 47-5 mark.

She’s heading back to the big dance.

Former Cow Town student Izzy LeVine, the last link in a family which includes three Coupeville Sports Hall o’ Fame inductees, qualified for the state wrestling tourney in Arizona for a second-straight season.

Micky and Jae’s rampaging lil’ sis finished second in her weight class at sectionals this past weekend, while her Casteel High School squad won a team title.

Izzy’s lone loss at the postseason rumble came in the final, where she faced the #2 ranked grappler in the state.

Overall, Casteel is sending eight wrestlers to state this season.

The cap to the high school mat campaign is Feb. 15-17 in Phoenix.

Izzy LeVine is chasing a state title and looking stronger each day.

The former Coupeville supernova, now toiling on the wrestling mats in Arizona, closed 2023 with another stellar performance, which bodes well for 2024.

Mickey and Jae’s lil’ sis, who grapples for Casteel High School, claimed 3rd place at the Mile High Challenge in Prescott Valley, going 4-1 in tourney action.

She notched all of her victories by pin, before losing a tense tussle with the defending state champ in her weight class.

The youngest LeVine sister is 26-2 on the season as the calendar prepares to flip to a new year.

Iz looked tough and continues to improve!” said dad Sean.

Overall, Casteel earned 5th place, out of 32 schools, in the team standings.

During their days in Cow Town, Izzy’s parents both worked in the medical field, while her sisters were multi-sport stars at Coupeville High School.

While her wrestling career didn’t hit the stratosphere until after a family move to Arizona, Joline’s youngest was a vocal fan for her sister’s athletic exploits while attending Coupeville Elementary.

The mat, and the wrestler standing on it, tremble when Izzy LeVine swaggers into view.

The former Coupeville student, forever known as the little girl who gave me rocks at her older sister’s various sporting events, continues to terrorize rival grapplers in her new life.

Now a student at Casteel High School in Arizona, Izzy, the heir to the shining athletic legacy set by Micky and Jae, is a wrestler on a rampage.

Her latest stop, as 2023 prepares to exit out the door and be replaced by 2024, was the Fierce Filly Showdown in Queen Creek.

While operating on her home mats, the youngest LeVine claimed 2nd place at 128 pounds, ripping off five straight pins to open the tourney.

While Izzy was nipped by a top-ranked foe in a nailbiter championship match, she helped lead Casteel to a team title at the 20-squad event.
