Coffman and crew rumble to gridiron title

Dominic Coffman continues to tear up the gridiron in Spain.

Back-to-back-to-back.

The Las Rozas Black Demons football squad, which includes Coupeville grad Dominic Coffman, have made it three consecutive Spanish Bowl titles.

They did it in style, crushing the Badalona Dracs 36-14 Saturday to complete an undefeated season and once again sit atop the Liga Nacional de Futbol Americano.

Badalona is the old-school rulers of the LNFA, having won 11 titles between 1998-2021, but Coffman and Company are now running things.

The former Wolf, who was the Northwest 2B/1B League MVP during his senior season at CHS, rambled for 1,265 yards as a running back this year while playing on both sides of the ball.

During his younger days, Coffman went to the state tourney in football, basketball, and track and field for the Wolves before graduating in 2023.

Off to the end zone.

Spanish gridiron, American excellence

He’s chasing history on the Spanish gridiron.

Coupeville grad Dominic Coffman is part of a football team pursuing an unprecedented three-peat as champs of the Liga Nacional de Fútbol Americano.

The Las Rozas Black Demons are 8-0 heading into the playoffs, where they will try to add a title to go with their crowns from 2023 and 2024.

Coffman, who plays at running back and linebacker, is in his second season with the squad, which tops all teams in both scoring (313 points) and defense (83).

During his Coupeville days, the former Wolf ace played football, basketball, and track and field, advancing to state in all three sports.

Coffman was the Northwest 2B/1B League MVP during his senior football season and later was a member of a 4 x 100 relay unit which finished second at the 2B state championships.

Dominic Coffman

Dominic Coffman continues to run amok in Spain.

The Coupeville High School grad cracked the defense for two touchdowns on the ground Saturday, churning and burning his way to gridiron glory to help his football team advance to another championship game.

With the former Wolf pounding away for close to 100 yards as a rusher, the Las Bravas Black Demons destroyed the Mallorca Voltors 46-0 in a semifinal matchup.

Coffman and Co. now advance to the title game Dec. 17 to play the Badalona Dracs, who blanked the Hospitalet Pioners 27-0 in the day’s other game.

This is the second season of playing American football abroad for the former Northwest 2B/1B League MVP, as he helped Las Bravas win the Spanish Cup in his debut campaign.

During his Coupeville days, Coffman, a 2023 grad, went to state in football, basketball, and track and field, joining Jonathan Valenzuela as the only Wolf boys to pull off the trifecta since at least the ’70s.

In his final state appearance, he was part of a CHS 4 x 100 relay unit which finished second.

Different continent, same Dominator

One year in, one title to his credit.

Coupeville grad Dominic Coffman was part of a championship-winning football team during his debut campaign overseas, as the Las Bravos Black Demons won the Spanish Cup Saturday.

The former Wolf, a three-sport star back in his CHS days, contributed on both sides of the ball, playing running back and linebacker.

Coffman an international gridiron champ

Dominic Coffman

All the way to the top in his first season overseas.

Coupeville grad Dominic Coffman and his semi-pro football team won a title Saturday in Madrid, as Las Rozas toppled OSO Rivas 27-23 in the Spanish Bowl.

The Black Demons finished 9-1 on the campaign.

Coffman played on both sides of the ball for Las Rozas, contributing at running back and linebacker this season.

He scored 38 points and cracked 500+ yards rushing during the regular season, while also collecting 15 tackles and an interception on defense.

During his Coupeville days, Coffman, a 2023 grad, went to the state tourney in football, basketball, and track and field, joining Jonathan Valenzuela as the only Wolf boys to pull off the trifecta since at least the ’70s.

He ran a leg on a 4 x 100 relay unit which finished second in all of 2B, while earlier being named Northwest 2B/1B League MVP for his play on the gridiron.
