Adeline Maynes is contemplating spending the holidays in a place much warmer than Whidbey.

The Coupeville High School softball sensation has been tabbed to represent Washington state at the 4th annual National All State Championship in Florida Dec. 28-31.

The event, put on by USSSA Fastpitch at the Space Coast Complex, is “a showcase-style event created to bring athletes from across the country together for a competitive and memorable experience.”

Maynes, who will be a junior at CHS this fall, has been a standout in the pitcher’s circle, leading the Wolves to back-to-back state tournament trips the past two seasons after debuting as the #1 chucker as a mere 8th grader.

With Coupeville winning three games at the big dance, two in 2025 and one this spring, it’s the first time the program advanced to state in consecutive years.

A busy bee, Maynes has previously balanced three sports, also playing varsity volleyball and basketball, while pulling double duty as a school and travel ball softball ace.

Now, as she embraces a chance to make big strides on the diamond, Maynes plans to focus solely on softball, stepping away from her other sports, said mom Lara.

Adeline flung heat for the Island Vipers travel ball squad this summer, while also making an appearance with New Level Premium in the 17U gold bracket at the Canada Cup in July.

Going forward, the strikeout queen will suit up for NW United 18U, a top-level squad based out of Lynnwood.

Maynes nabs some Instagram love.
