He’s an internet star now.

Coupeville High School head football coach Bennett Richter, basking in the glow of a 4-1 start, made his debut Monday on KRKO’s weekly prep sports podcast.

The velvet-voiced leader of the Wolves pops up at about the 45-minute mark, and his segment runs for approximately 15 minutes.

During his on-air run, Richter talks about the stunning late-game comeback win over Cedar Park Christian 10 days ago, Coupeville football’s annual bluff run, his appreciation of beards, and his love for his players.

Plus, Coupeville Sports gets name-dropped by the podcasters, so there’s that.

Carr speaks, world listens

Marcus Carr is going national.

The Coupeville High School football coach recently landed on Twitter, and he’s been quick to promote the Wolf gridiron program.

High School Football America, a national web site, offered a chance for five coaches from across the USA to earn a podcast appearance with gridiron guru Jeff Fisher.

Fingers flying, Carr was one of the winners of the contest, and his show hit the internet today.

He follows in the footsteps of coaches from Florida, Nebraska, and Wisconsin, joining Prairie (Vancouver) coach Mike Peck to give Washington state a sweet 40% market share of the podcasts.

“Am I having a sports stroke right now?”

“Is he still not killing people?!?!”

“We left early one time, because they did not deserve us!”

“They should have refunded your beer, because no amount of beer was going to make that game entertaining.”

Will Butela and Mike Duke were supremely entertaining back in their “old school” Coupeville High School days, and nothing has changed.

When the dazzling duo are not making national commercials, they are crazy busy pumping out some of the best podcasts in the biz.

Yes, it’s basically the two of them sitting around yammering — bouncing from DuckTales to Dan Marino to Making a Murderer to beer in the first two or three minutes alone in their latest masterpiece — but that’s gold, Jerry, gold.

Episode #22 just went up today, which means you may need to take the rest of the week off from work and devote yourself to catching up.

Your boss will understand.
