It’s that most special time of the season.
Jazz up the band. Get a little bit more excited when they call out your name in pre-game player introductions. Get ready to go out and lay some smack down.
It’s playoff time, baby.
The Coupeville High School girls’ hoops squad kicks off the double-elimination district tournament tonight 7 PM in Mount Baker.
A win against the Mountaineers (10-10) and the Wolves (9-11) would likely be back on the road Thursday to face top seed Lynden Christian in the semifinals.
A loss and Coupeville, barring a colossal upset defeat for the Lyncs, would host Meridian, — a team they beat 46-34 earlier this season — also on Thursday.
Depending on the route they take, the Wolves could play Friday (and possibly host) and/or Saturday (on a neutral court at Mountlake Terrace High School).
Four of the eight teams at districts will advance to tri-districts, which run Feb. 18-22.
