The seasons, they are a changin’.
Fall sports officially ended Friday with Coupeville drilling Bellevue Christian 55-38 on the gridiron, and now we sit nine short days away from the first day of basketball practice on Nov. 17.
Actual high school hoops games start two weeks after that and stretch through Feb., with the Wolf girls’ and boys’ squads combining to play at home 19 times in 2014-2015, barring any postseason flavor filtering into the CHS gym.
Coupeville has 10 doubleheaders this season, with four of them at home. The first comes Friday, Dec. 3 when South Whidbey makes the stroll up-Island.
The Wolves and Falcons, despite no longer being league mates in the 1A/2A Cascade Conference, will stay play twice this season, once in Cow Town and once down in Langley.
Having moved into the new 1A Olympic League, CHS will face each of its new rivals — Klahowya, Port Townsend and Chimacum — three times apiece.
