They are loud ‘n proud, two pint-sized wonders who pack a big cheer punch.
Coupeville High School cheerleaders Maddy Neitzel and Julie Bucio are separated by a couple of years in age (the former is a senior, the latter a freshman), but they’re united by their birthday and their bright, shining spirits.
You couldn’t ask for two friendlier, more outgoing, smart and kind young women to rep our town.
As key members of the Wolf cheer squad, the duo were front and center at a ton of games this school year, and they both radiated school spirit and a love for inspiring their classmates and local fans.
Working as hard as anyone at CHS, the duo, and their cheer teammates, have consistently proven they should be viewed in the same light as other Wolf athletes, since that’s what they are — athletes.
Away from the arena, both display big skills in the classroom (science calls to Bucio while Neitzel is all about art), and, when I interviewed them for articles, a love of family was what drove both of these strong young women.
As the duo celebrate their joint cake day, we, the fans who see a slice of their lives play out in front of us, want to send both of them big happy birthday wishes.
Maddy, Julie, you are both amazing and I have no doubt you will continue to scale new heights as you move forward with your lives.
Happy birthday, ladies!
