There’s no end to the good times.
Romping to its biggest victory of the season, the Whitman College women’s basketball squad thrashed visiting Colorado College 104-43 Saturday night, improving to 9-0 on the season.
The Blues, who got six points and seven rebounds from former Coupeville High School star Makana Stone, won both of their games at the Kim Evanger Raney Classic.
Northwest Conference rival Whitworth, which beat Louisiana College in overtime Saturday, went 1-1, while Colorado and Louisiana each finished 0-2.
Whitman now has eight days off, not playing again until the Hawaii Tournament in Honalulu Dec. 19-20
Saturday night was a massacre, as the Blues jumped out to an 18-0 lead and scored between 23 and 31 points in every quarter.
Chelsi Brewer and Maegen Martin each went for 15 to lead six Whitman players in double-digit scoring.
Stone, continuing her stellar play as a super sub, was strongest in the second quarter, when she hit two of her three buckets and snared three boards.
For the season the Whitman frosh is averaging 6.2 points and 5.6 rebounds a night, while shooting a crisp 58.1% from the field (25 of 43).
She also has eight steals, seven assists and two blocks.
