There’s a new coach repping the red and black on the gridiron.
Keiondre McAllister has been hired as an assistant football coach by Coupeville High School, pending approval by the school board at Thursday’s meeting.
The new guy fills a hole left when Bobby Carr resigned after spending eight years with the Wolf program.
McAllister, who turned 26 earlier this month, joins a CHS coaching staff led by Bennett Richter.
The newest Wolf was a standout athlete and student growing up in Tennessee, where he graduated in 2018 from South Gibson High School in Medina.
During his prep football career, McAllister played at running back and wide receiver, piling up 3,229 all-purpose yards and scoring 35 touchdowns.
He was also a hard hitter on the defensive side of the ball, blocking multiple kicks while earning All-State and All-Region honors as a player as well as Academic All-State notice for his work in the classroom.
McAllister graduated with a 3.8 GPA, then attended Harding University in Arkansas, where he played football at the NCAA D-II level.
During his time at the school, he made three All-Academic teams and left his mark on the field, where he ripped off a 78-yard run in a game against Northwest Oklahoma.
On his Facebook page, McAllister is listed as having a master’s in business administration degree from Harding and an MA in Management from the University of Oregon.
