October 9 is going to be a busy one.
The Coupeville High School football team is slated to host South Whidbey that night, with The Bucket up for grabs.
It’s also Senior Night for the Wolves, and now it’ll do triple duty with Homecoming being bumped back a week.
CHS was originally set to play that contest October 2, when it hosts Northwest 2B/1B League rival Friday Harbor, but there was a logjam on the island schedule with Oak Harbor High School’s Homecoming game also set for that date.
Coupeville opted to move its Homecoming to loosen things up, setting up the possibility Wolf alumni can celebrate the same night they watch their next-door neighbors cry sweet, sweet tears after absorbing a second-straight loss in the rivalry series.
Kickoff is set for 7:00 PM at Mickey Clark Field.
