First road trip in the books.
A Coupeville High School JV volleyball squad which features five freshmen made the relatively short trek to Langley Wednesday, where the Wolves exchanged spikes and sets with host South Whidbey across three sets.
While the Falcons finished the night with a 25-16, 25-12, 25-13 win, the Wolves picked up valuable lessons in the heat of battle.
Alita Blouin’s squad had seven girls in action Wednesday, with Cassandra Powers and Emma Leavitt combining to pace CHS with eight kills.
Joining them on the floor were Sabrina Judnich, Annabelle Cundiff, Olivia Martin, Scarlett Spencer, and Addison Jacobson.
The young Wolves, now 0-2 on the season, return to action Friday with a home tilt against Orcas Island.
Because of the possibility of the visitors having to skedaddle to catch a ferry, the JV is slated to play second, with the varsity starting at 3:30 PM.
