Every set is a building block.
Trying to get her young spikers as much floor time as possible, Coupeville High School JV volleyball coach Alita Blouin took her squad to Oak Harbor Saturday to participate in an all-day tourney.
While there the Wolves won two of three matches, knocking off Squalicum 25-15, 25-18, 25-11 and rallying to silence Sequim 20-25, 25-14, 25-16.
Coupeville rounded out tourney play with a hard-fought loss to Anacortes, falling 25-14, 25-23 while almost forcing a third and decisive set.
The Wolves are back in action next week, when they travel to Orcas Island Wednesday before hosting Mount Vernon Christian and East Jefferson Friday and Saturday.
