Call ’em the rally queens.
Down a set to visiting Mount Vernon Christian Friday night, the Coupeville High School JV volleyball squad stormed back to scorch the Hurricanes, winning a tense tussle in three action-packed frames.
When the last spike winner erupted off of Emily Rains fingertips and slammed into the hardwood, the Wolves were left with a 19-25, 25-18, 25-15 victory.
That lifts Alita Blouin’s pack of scrappy spikers to 4-4 in Northwest 2B/1B League action, 4-7 overall.
The Wolves, who have won four of their last six matches, get a chance to keep things going right away, hosting East Jefferson in a non-league rumble Saturday afternoon.
Tip-off is set for 1:00 PM.
