“You can’t win. If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.”
Star Wars sage Obi-Wan Kenobi said it first, maybe, but Taylor Marrs is living it every day.
The Coupeville High School junior, whose soccer season was rudely interrupted by a broken ankle, is like a Jedi in many ways — slightly mysterious, full of wisdom, and the inspiration for an entire galaxy.
In this case a galaxy of young Wolf soccer players who are emulating their Zen-like master and living up to the high standards she set for them on the pitch.
And now, thanks to some diligent film work by CHS coaches Jasmine Ader and Jerry Helm, Miss Marrs is finally getting official credit for a goal she scored earlier in the season.
With the tally credited to Jaden and Lauren’s lil’ sis, 15 of the 16 players on this year’s roster have scored a goal — the highest total in program history.
And Taylor?
Like another movie legend, The Dude in The Big Lebowski, she abides.
Now and forever.
