New year, new hopes and dreams.

With the start of school rolling closer as we enter the dog days of August, the Coupeville Booster Club is getting a jumpstart on fanning the flames of support for the Wolves.

The first meeting of the 2024-2025 school year is set for this Monday, Aug. 26.

It’ll be held in the health room at the Coupeville High School gym, which is the first thing on your left as you enter the front door. Start time is 6:00 PM.

There are many ways to support the invaluable work of the booster club, all of which you can find out by popping in for a meeting.

The boosters are the backbone of Wolf sports, making life easier for coaches, athletes, and admins.

The group annually awards eight $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors, while also providing a yearly stipend to high school and middle school sports programs.

The boosters also provide roses for Senior Night festivities, varsity letters for Wolf athletes, meal money and goodie bags for road trips, and numerous team improvement items.

These have ranged from literature and DVDs to tarps, weight room equipment, batting cages, upgrades to school athletic fields and facilities, and t-shirts for cancer awareness nights.

Plus, the Wall of Fame in the CHS gym, which documents accomplishments from 100+ years of Coupeville athletics?

It wouldn’t exist without the support of the boosters, who provided the biggest financial contribution to its development, and continue to handle updates.

Fresh blood is the answer.

Whether we’re talking about vampire movies (we’re not) or the Coupeville Booster Club (we are), every so often you need an infusion.

In the case of the boosters, getting parents or grandparents to join up, especially when their athletes are still young, is vastly important.

That way, when current leaders, and their offspring, “age out,” there’s already a solid group of people in place ready to keep things humming along.

And the booster club’s work is super important, providing crucial financial assistance to Wolf sports programs.

Making life easier for Coupeville administrators, and benefitting the school’s student/athletes, the support crew is invaluable.

Want to join and be a worker bee or a leader? Now is the time.

The booster club holds its next general meeting this coming Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 6:00 PM in the health room, which is on your left as you enter the CHS gym.

The tentative agenda includes the treasurer’s report, reviews of any coach requests, getting organized for the upcoming Mussel Fest, membership status, and various spring functions such as the scholarship committee and annual athletic appreciation event.

Recruitment of new members and officers is a huge priority, as well.

So, either show up in person, or contact the club at coupevillebc@gmail.com if you have questions.

Stir the mussels, help fill the (financial) pot.

The Coupeville Booster Club is looking for a few good volunteers to help out with one of its biggest fundraisers.

That would be the annual Mussel Fest, which is set for Mar. 2-3 this go round.

The booster club serves up warm food to festival goers, with the resulting money helping them fulfill their goal of being the wind beneath the wings of Coupeville athletes.

While you get bonus points if you have a food handlers’ card, no prior experience is needed, as the club will teach you to duel with the briny buggers on the fly.

“We just need new blood,” said booster club mover and shaker Leann Leavitt with a laugh.

“I’m not sure how many more years I can convince (my husband) Nate to cook these for an entire weekend.”

You can have a big impact on the Coupeville Booster Club.

The group, which supports Wolf athletics, has sold all of its “Elite Silver” and “Elite Gold” memberships for 2024, but has five to six “Elite Bronze” slots still up for grabs.

Cost is $750 and comes with a sign which is hung in the entrance to the Coupeville High School/Middle School gym.

Whether you have a business, organization, or civic group, or just want to promote the awesomeness of your family, it’s a perfect level for one and all.

If you’re interested in snagging the deal, contact the booster club at coupevillebc@gmail.com.

And while you’re doing that, think about attending the next board meeting, which is set for 6:00 PM on Thursday, Jan. 18 in the health room, which is on your left as you enter the gym.

Among items to be considered that night will be the election of a new slate of officers, including president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer.

Why get involved with the club? Because you’d be helping keep an invaluable resource chugging along.

Pledge your support today!

As 2023 slips away and 2024 comes careening around the corner, now is a perfect time to get a jump on renewing your membership with the Coupeville Booster Club.

Or joining up for the first time.

Spots are filling up rapidly, so if you want to see your name displayed up on the wall in the entrance to the CHS gym, get crackin’.

There are multiple membership options, or you can also make a flat donation to help the boosters if you miss out on a slot.

All money sent in the direction of the club is tax deductible.

There are three membership opportunities — individual, family, and business — which come with a sign in the gym.

Or you can go elite, at which point your sign will include your business name, contact information, and logo.

That level can be achieved in bronze (48″ x 24″), silver (48″ x 48″), or gold (66″ x 48″).

When you support the Booster Club, you make a huge difference for Wolf athletes.
