“Then we’re agreed, right? If she doesn’t shoot pictures, we unleash the poison darts that you brought back with you from Bangkok?”

This is a public service announcement.

If you are Amy Briscoe, or know Amy Briscoe, or run into Amy Briscoe by accident today (hopefully not with your car…) you need to remember one thing — PACK YOUR CAMERA, WOMAN!!

The first home Coupeville Middle School volleyball games of the season are today, starting at 3 PM, and Mrs. Briscoe, whose daughters Kyla and Tiffany suit up for the Wolves, has explicitly promised me she will shoot photos of said action. Photos that I can use here on the blog.

So, I’m just putting this out there. Don’t disappoint me, woman! I know where you live!!

Oh, and don’t drive by my house (she knows where I live, too…) and throw things at my head in revenge for this. That would be nice, too.

Martin’s Marauders

Efforts to dig a trench and cut Whidbey Island in half have failed, leaving Langley to face a Wolf invasion later this afternoon,

The Wolves in question play football for Coupeville Middle School, and they’re headed South with one goal — to clip the wings of their Falcon hosts.

Coach Bob Martin and his gridiron gang, many of whom are pictured above in a photo poached off of the team’s Facebook page, are looking for their first win of the season after a competitive, but tough loss to Granite Falls in their opener.

Kickoff is 4 PM at South Whidbey High School.

He didn’t know it at the time, but CMS football coach Bob Martin (left) would soon have a second reason to celebrate — his team getting a home game. For the moment, he had to console himself, and   driver Mark Hammer, with the promise of a brew or two at the Coupeville Booster Club golf tourney.

Park the bus, Martha!

After drawing a schedule that had them playing every single game this season on the road, the Coupeville Middle School football team has finally broken through and locked in at least one home game.

The future stars of Friday Night Lights action will welcome Langley to town Thursday, Oct. 11 for a game slated to kick-off at 3 p.m.

Mark your calendars! Plan to call in sick that day, if necessary, and pack the stands!! Cause is there anything sweeter than watching a Coupeville team whip the stuffing out of a squad from South Whidbey?

Yeah, I thought not.

Never get between a grandma and the dish of petrified licorice she keeps on her coffee table.

A few fast facts:

Grandmas love to read their grand kids names in the newspaper.

Newspapers are being killed by the internet.

So, if you’re a Coupeville football player, high school or middle school, you need to go to grandma’s house right now, show her how to hook-up the dial-up and then point at your name and say, “See gramma, I hit the big time … sort of.”

And finally, never eat the candy that’s been stuck to the bottom of the candy dish on her coffee table every time you’ve visited. The last thing you need stuck in your digestive tract is a piece of black licorice from 1977.

Some kids that are gonna get some gramma love:
