Madison McMillan

She’s found her groove.

Coupeville grad Madison McMillan is on a tear of late, hammering the ball at a wicked clip for a red-hot Edmonds College softball squad.

And Wednesday was a prime example, as the former Wolf bomber put together a stellar performance to help lift the Tritons to a doubleheader sweep of visiting Pierce College.

Winning 11-1 and 8-4, with McMillan delivering the go-ahead hit in the nightcap, Edmonds runs its win streak to 12 and sits at 12-1 heading into a busy weekend.

The Tritons host Douglas College Saturday and Skagit Valley College Sunday, playing four more games as long as Mother Nature cooperates.

Squaring off with Pierce, McMillan rapped a single in the opener, then delivered a three-hit, three-RBI, two-run, one-walk master class in the second game.

Her biggest blow was a two-run double in the bottom of the sixth which put Edmonds ahead for good at 6-4.

While she’s now a college standout, McMillan’s legend still looms large in Cow Town, where she played volleyball, basketball, and softball for CHS, helping lead the spikers and sluggers to the state tourney.

Madison McMillan

She’s a made woman.

Coupeville grad Madison McMillan delivered her second home run as a college softball player Wednesday, and it was an impressive one, as the former Wolf hammered the ball over the fence in left center.

That helped carry Edmonds College to a 13-1 win and a doubleheader sweep of visiting Shoreline, lifting the Tritons to a crisp 10-1 on the season.

McMillan has played in six games so far, collecting two home runs, six RBI, three runs, and a walk.

At least.

Edmonds stats aren’t 100% correct at the moment, but the Tritons are winning regardless.

McMillan and her teammates, who have reeled off 10 straight wins after losing on Opening Day, return to action this Saturday with a road doubleheader against Bellevue.

During her CHS days, McMillan was a standout volleyball, basketball, and softball player for the Wolves, helping take the spikers and sluggers to state tournament success.

She’s shining on the big stage.

Coupeville grad Taygin Jump, now a junior at Plattsburgh State, set a PR in the weight throw Friday, earning points for the Cardinals by finishing 7th in a field of 22 competitors.

The former Wolf was competing at the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Indoor Track and Field Championships in Brockport, New York.

Jump’s best throw Friday traveled 44 feet, 10.25 inches, besting her previous top mark of 44-09, set just a week ago.

A standout volleyball and track and field athlete during her Cow Town days, Aleksia and Khanor’s big sister is majoring in Environmental Planning & Management at Plattsburgh.

The Cardinals wrap the indoor season with two more postseason meets for qualifiers — the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference Championships and the NCAA D-III Championships — before moving outdoors as the weather warms.

She lives to hurl things.

Coupeville High School grad Taygin Jump is in her third season competing in the world of collegiate track and field for Plattsburgh State, and she hasn’t lost any of her desire to throw stuff far, far away.

Friday afternoon, the Cardinal junior was in Canton, New York for the St. Lawrence Open, where she competed in the weight throw and shot put.

In the first of those two events Jump tossed her implement 44 feet, nine inches — tying her PR — to finish 4th in a field of 20 competitors.

That allowed her to score five points for Plattsburgh.

Jump also notched 14th place in a 23-woman shot put rumble, launching the orb 26-03.

Next up for the former Wolf and her current teammates is the SUNYAC Indoor Championships in Brockport, New York Feb. 27-28.

After playing volleyball and competing in track during her CHS days, Aleksia and Khanor’s big sis has been pursuing college studies in Environmental Planning & Management while making numerous academic honor rolls.

Why wait for the weekend?

Spicing up the early part of the week, Coupeville grad Taygin Jump and her teammates hosted the Plattsburgh State Tuesday Track and Field Meet, the lone home indoor rumble for the Cardinals.

Then the former Wolf went out and was one of the brightest stars of the event.

Jump smashed her PR in the weight throw, launching her implement 44 feet, nine inches, to win the title by a solid seven inches over her nearest competitor.

Her previous best was 44-6.75, set at the SLU Open Feb. 21, 2025.

The Plattsburgh junior also claimed 8th place in the shot put Tuesday, throwing the orb 27-2.75.

When she’s not crushing it in the world of track and field, Aleksia and Khanor’s big sis studies Environmental Planning and Management at the New York-based institution of higher learning.
