Jumping into the first day of the 1A District 1 Championships Wednesday at Lynden, six Coupeville High School track stars set PRs.
Better yet, most of them set themselves up to compete in the finals of their events Friday.
Makana Stone, Sylvia Hurlburt, Jared Helmstadter, Marisa Etzell, Lauren Grove and Mitchell Carroll all copped personal bests in an event, while Stone threw down the fastest time in the 400, even though she didn’t PR in that race.
The Wolves return to Lynden Christian High School Friday to wrap up Districts, with the hope of advancing as many athletes as possible on to Tri-Districts May 22 and 24 at Shoreline.
